Frequently asked questions

How do I add the widget to my home screen?
  1. Touch and hold an empty spot on your home screen until the apps jiggle.
  2. Tap Edit in the top corner, then Add Widget.
  3. Search for Ayanur, pick a size and tap Add Widget.
How do I add it to my lock screen?
  1. Touch and hold your lock screen, then tap Customize.
  2. Choose Lock Screen and tap the area under the clock.
  3. Pick Ayanur from the list. Lock screen widgets come with Pro.
Why hasn't my widget changed?

Ayanur lines up the coming ayahs on your device in advance, so the widget changes on its own at the times you chose, without internet and without opening the app. iOS decides the exact moment a widget is redrawn, so a change can sometimes come a few minutes late. If it stays the same for much longer, open Ayanur once and check New ayah in Settings. Every hour and 3 times a day come with Pro; on the free plan the ayah changes once a day. If that does not help, remove the widget and add it again.

What is free, and what comes with Pro?

Free: the home screen widget in small, medium and large, the Sunset style, a new ayah once a day, small and medium text.

Ayanur Pro: lock screen widgets, all widget styles, a new ayah every hour or 3 times a day, and large text. Pro is weekly or yearly; the yearly plan starts with a 7-day free trial.

The Quran text and every translation are the same on both plans. There are no ads.

How do I restore my purchase?

Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple Account you used to subscribe. Then open Ayanur and go to Settings → Restore purchases, or tap Restore on the subscription screen.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not inside the app. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions, choose Ayanur and tap Cancel Subscription. To avoid being charged after the free trial, cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. Removing the app does not cancel a subscription.

How do I change the translation language?

Open Ayanur, go to Settings → Translation language and pick a language. The widget shows the new language in a moment. There you can also choose whether the Arabic is shown.

Where does the text come from, and is it accurate?

The Arabic text is the Uthmani text of the Tanzil Project, not changed by a single letter. Each translation comes word for word from QuranEnc.com. Nothing is shortened, reworded or generated by AI. Footnotes are not shown, so their reference marks are left out. If you think something is wrong, send us a message below and name the surah and ayah.
